In the HTC One update tips and help guide HTC has noted that a feature of Sense 6 called extreme battery mode was specifically unavailable to Verizon phones. Why?

I've contacted HTC and they simply said I would have to talk to someone at Verizon. Unfortunately it seems that contacting a support representative at Verizon is near to impossible, seeing as this marks my fourth attempt at getting hold of someone about my inquiry. I went to the online chat (which seems to be indefinitely busy) I posted on Verizon facebook page and now I'm asking for answers from a group of strangers. Any one that can help with the info? It would be greatly appreciated.
