Long boot time

My HTC Thunderbolt has always been a slow starter, but with the change in phone numbers it has become glacial. Here are few time posts.
M:S
0:00 Press and hold start button for 6 seconds
0:06 HTC green letters on white background appear
0:15 Thunderbolt logo and sound
1:15 Unit vibrator "pings" once
2:15 Home screen appears
3:00 4G service indicator lights up
3:15 Phone ready for use
As a side note I sure as heck would not want this thing turned off at a time when I needed to dial 911.
Any suggestions on how to speed up boot time which is really a convenience issue since i just keep it on all the time to avoid the long boot.

i don't know? mine takes a while. i've never timed it, but if i had to guess, it'as at least 2 minutes. i always assumed it's because i have a few apps that start up automatically, and i also noticed that it automatically syncs "backup assistant" when i reboot...and it's never truly up and running until it does all of that stuff. my only suggestion is to see what apps are automatically starting up and doing things when you boot up......and then see if there's a way to disable them (or uninstall them if you don't use them).

2-3 minutes sounds about right for my Thunderbolt too.

Even in airplane mode, it takes my Thunderbolt almost 2:30 to boot to both to the main lock screen and another 15 seconds for the widgets to load after unlocking the phone.

would resetting the phone to factory settings help boot time, the hassle of getting all of my apps back would be a small price to pay.

no I would recommend using fast boot, as soon as you reinstall your apps boot will slow down

Nope, even a factory reset won't make the Thunderbolt boot any faster. Since the original post, I have done a factory reset and the only difference is the initial boot screen is slightly different from boot screen after setting up the phone. Same time length for the booting time.
