Lately, I have not been getting any notification that I have an MMS in my inbox. My phone notification (and sound) will go off when I receive text messages but no MMS. I discover that I have an MMS message when I go to my messages inbox and it appears then.....but why not when it was sent? I tried rebooting, changing my MMS settings, sound, notifications, EVERYTHING! Has anyone had this problem with their phone or is it a network issue?
Are you using the default alerts for your messages or a custom alert? Check your default setting under Settings / Sounds / Notifications, also check Menu / Personalize / Notification Sounds / Text Messages
Yes, like I said before, I checked every setting possible on the phone, even had people send me MMS messages. The main setting for the messages are in the message app itself. All notifications are on, even vibrate. I also have the Handcent app on my phone which I don't think interferes with the notifications because I have all notifications turned off in Handcent except for "screen light up".
Actually the default setting isn't in the app, that is for custom alerts but by default it uses the notification alert under Settings / Sounds / Notifications or the Menu / Personalize / Notification Sounds / Text Messages ...
Also Handcent has a option to disable the default notification when app is installed to avoid double notifications but I still dont understand why you use Handcent but disable its alerts.. Why dont you simply use the notification in the application that you are using for the messages?
I just like the light up screen notification that Handcent does. I know, it's odd how I don't use the app for its full features. I just don't like the way it works. Could it possibly just be an iPhone thing? I've noticed that family members who use the iPhone will engage a group message and include me. I get other notifications just fine when they send an individual message, but with group messages......that is what confuses me.
