Master Reset..

If you do a master reset on the device to wipe it totally clean from what has been downloaded from the market all apps. Is there a way to save the txt msgs that you have on your phone?? or will the master reset wipe them totally out?  or is there an app that can be downloaded to back them up to before doing the reset?

Still having txting issues and just wondering if I reset and get rid of the apps and start over if this will help..

Thanks

I beleive you can save txt to sd card but i haven't tried, you can always forword to your email

apps you can't save progress but the market will remember which apps you downloaded so that will go with your gmail

What texting problems are you having though? There are a few known bugs and none need a master reset to fix

It doesn't matter if Im sending or receiving a txt everytime I go to back out of the txt msg menu and hit the arrow button I get a error message stating, something to the fact of do you want to foreclose or wait?  and if I hit wait it just sits there and it's every time, I didn't have this problem to begin with but now it's everytime I send or get a txt..

If you can help I would so appreciate it because it is so irritating..

Do a search in the market for "sms".

There are plenty of apps that will back up text messages.   Just make sure whatever you use saves them to your SD card.  When you do a factory reset, it will reset everything on the phone itself and not do anything to your sd card.

Hope that helps.

The SMS Backup & Restore from the Market works well and saves the text messages to the sd card.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Couple of tried and true methods to help you troubleshoot phone issues:

1.  Factory reset is usually the first thing CS reps will tell you to do.  This is because it gets the phone to a state that is probably the most stable and they know your starting point.

Backup up everything you want to keep -  Some things are automatically backed up via the Google cloud (contacts, etc),  just make sure to run a sync on your accounts before wiping.

2.  Once restored to factory stock, try and add 3rd party apps one by one, testing your apps that gave you problems between each reinstall.  This way you may be able to isolate what could be causing your issue.  It could be any app causing you a problem.

3.  Sometimes data just gets corrupted.  Short of doing a factory reset, you can try clearing caches or data from apps to see if it helps as well (again, make sure you have things like text message you want to keep backed up...just in case).

If none of these things help, there is always the possibility for hardware issues.

Hope this helps you out.

to emphasize what dnakaman mentioned......i will only download 1 or 2 apps in a day. i'll then use the phone for a day or 2 to make sure it still runs smooth. this way, if the phone starts acting up, you know exactly which app caused it and you can get rid of it. i also ONLY istall apps that recieved at least 4 out of 5 stars and i read many reviews to look specifically for other tbolt users (some apps may work great on certain androids and are junk on other androids).
