Office 2010 & syncing with Google

My employer recently upgraded to Microsoft Office 2010 & now I'm unable to sync my Outlook calendar with my Google calendar.  I contacted IT & was told that Google Calendar isn't a TAL approved program to have installed on our work computers.  Is there anyway that I can sync these calendars?
