My Thunderbolt is always shutting off 3 - 4 times a day extremely frustrating and the update that was pushed out a
couple of days ago didn't help things either.

I hate to do the "me too" post, but hopefully by doing so, we can get a answer from big red.

Have had to reactivate an old phone as I need to have something reliable and I am sorry tohave to put my Thunderbolt in the drawer. It seems that VZW and HTC are unwilling to recognize the issue. All they need to do is a web search to see that this is happening to lots of others.

Mine does it too. I have no idea why, but it is EXTREMELY frustrating! Especially when in the middle of a call, like Rod said. Grrr!

I would first try booting your device in safe mode which can be found here> http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=40136
Try running your devic ein that mode for a day or so to see if issue persists. If all is fine then it is something on the device causing the issue. If that doesnt resolve the issue then as a last resort I would say perform a factory data reset found here> http://www.knowyourcell.com/htc/htc-thunderbolt/thunderbolt-guides/726984/how_to_hard_reset_the_htc_...
Just remember to back up your data first as all except what is on your sd card is GONE....

My Thunderbolt shuts off nearly every time I use it. I will be on the phone talking and without warning it will just shut off. I'm interested in trying to get a new battery, like some have suggested, but my battery didn't look warped. I really hope it works. After my phone shuts off (even sometimes with 80% battery) I cannot restart it unless it is plugged in. This is SOOOOO aggravating.

I have had a TB for over two years. If you have that issue, it is either an App issue/conflict or you have not done a master reset since the last update.....
Follow the instructions above to determine if apps are an issue
