I have the update installed and was having reboots. I disabled all location services (VZW, Google, GPS) and haven't had a reboot since. Give it a shot and see if it works for you...

There is no question , this is definatley happening after the update. The phone was perfect (except the battery life) for months.

After update, reboot, reboot, reboot, reboot, NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot, reboot,  NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot, NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot, reboot, NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot, NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot, reboot, NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot, reboot, reboot, NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot, NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot, reboot, reboot, NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot,  NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot, reboot, reboot, NEXT DAY , reboot,  reboot, reboot, NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot,  NEXT DAY , reboot, reboot,  reboot, NEXT DAY

...oh and etc.

I've been experiecing 2-4 reboots a day, at least the ones I've noticed.

The most frustating reboot, was during a voice call.  Phone just rebooted in the middle of the call.

We need this bug fixed.

What is lookout defense?  I have reboots several times a day and I really get upset when it is during a call and I have to apologize to a customer and blame my phone and they say, "what phone do you have and what carrier?"

I'm getting a bit upset that Verizon hasn't acknowledged the issues that the Thunderbolt has. It was supposed to be the flagship and for being the first 4G phone you'd think they would put more effort to get this phone working better. It’s pretty bad for them to brag about their 4G but to have their flagship 4G phone be plagued with so many problems. I would have thought we would be hearing solid rumors of Gingerbread by now but nothing solid for months. The only update you actually give us makes the phone worse and then not even recognize that there's a problem. Sorry for the rant but I just have to get this out... Oh and my phone reboots all the time as well. I recently moved to Iowa and I don't know where anything is and right before I moved out here I was like "Maybe I'll get a new phone". Gave the Droid Incredible (which I miss very badly now. I'd be watching Netflix now instead of ranting, hint. . . hint. . .) to my wife and bought the HTC THUNDERBOLT (enter loud thunder sound here) and I was able to drive to Iowa (from Utah no less) and Google maps rocked the whole way out. Other than the occasional reboot but I thought it might have been new apps that I had downloaded. I’m pretty patient (to a point. Ps I’ve lost my patience now as you can tell) And then I heard of this new update and I anxiously thought it would be the awaited Gingerbread and I was like awesome Verizon your the bomb and then I found out that it wasn't but that it would fix some of the issues with the GPS, which I was excited because it did take a long time for it to lock in and did reboot a couple of times across Nebraska, but then it was this crapdate that made it even worse.

Anyway Verizon let's get it together. It always seems like you guys go in streaks. For a period of time you seem to have cool phones and the updates but then you seem to loose steam and can't keep up. Now I know the mobile industry is a difficult one but boo hoo. It's not like you don't charge the most so freakin' do something with my money like make the phone work... I know it’s the phone manufactures who are responsible for the OS but it’s your responsibility to work with them to get your products working. Fine them if you want to. Or even better start refunding us for every valid reboot and then turn around and charge the vendor for it.  If it were any other industry I'd be getting apologized to and be getting refunds until the issue was resolved. I don't think it's fair that just because you’re a huge company that it's right to ignore your customers because we'll stay any way because you have the most coverage but ignore when there are problems. I'm not buying another phone. You will fix this one or I will go some where else (except AT&T because let's face it they suck even worse) but let me tell you what that  Nexus S 4G is looking mighty sexy right about now. Oh and look it has gingerbread… and 4G… and Netflix and… why the heck am I still writing this... perhaps I'll just drop my cell service and all my family’s and get cell service with a company that ... wait the service is cheaper to. Really Verizon, the customers who pay your salary are running out of excuses to stay with you...

If you read that whole thing you deserve a cookie. :smileywink: or perhaps a gingerbread cookie, Hint… Hint…

Please excuse any grammar errors I wrote while angry. And yes… I love using ellipsis.

ok, someone over at Android Central had the idea to create a map where everyone could add the locations where they are having issues or locations where everything is fine.  The thread is here and you can get to the map by going to this link.  Directions I posted in the other thread.

go to the google maps link. Sign in with your google account. Zoom to a location near where your reboots occurred, hit Edit. Then click the blue placemark symbol beside the little hand. Click on the map where you want to put it. You can change the color of the marker by hitting the marker at the top right of the pop-up. Enter your information, hit ok and then hit Save on the left.
