Returning iPhone for Thunderbolt!

I bought the iPhone on Friday and have determined that I will be returning it to the Apple Store. I wanted to try it out because I have not ever had an iPhone. I currently have the original Droid and love the option to root my phone and completely customize it. I will say that I like the easy iTunes setup and clear screen, however this phone seems ancient since it came out last summer, compared to what is coming out shortly...the HTC THUNDERBOLT! I dropped three calls yesterday in the Columbus, OH city limits...three!!! I do not blame AT&T for all the dropped calls, I believe this is more a flawed device than a terrible network. I rarely drop calls with my Droid and I've had the iPhone for 3 days and it dropped three. I mean, come on! I will be returning next week in favor of the Thunderbolt, which has a giant screen and 4G. I only got the iPhone to play around with, knowing that Apple has a nice return policy allowing 30 days with no restocking fee, unlike Verizon's crap 14-day policy with $35 restocking fee, what a joke. Why would annoy have bought an iPhone at Verizon when you can play with one for free for 30 days from Apple.
Others, what are your thoughts? Agreed?

Thank you everyone for your input. Equipment purchases through Verizon Wireless customer service over the phone, via our official website, or at our corporate store location have a 14-day Worry Free Guarantee Return Policy with a 35.00 restocking fee for returning an upgraded device. You may return your iPhone if desired and when the HTC Thunderbolt becomes available, you can upgrade to this device. Also, we apologize that currently the Thunderbolt availability date has not been released. You can sign up for an email alert of when the HTC Thunderbolt would be available.
The link to sign up is: http://phones.verizonwireless.com/htc/thunderbolt/
Also, listed below is a link to the Apple website explaining their return policy if your equipment is purchased through their official online store or corporate store location. http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salespolicies.html#topic-21
Thanks,

well....they will charge more, we just don't know how much. i'm ok with tiered pricing. if i can get 3-5 gigs for $50 or less, then i'm ok with that. unlimited is nice, but i don't use THAT much data. sprint charges $40 so i supect it will be at least that much and at&t doesn't have it so there's nothing to compare there. i'd be THRILLED if they do something similar to sprint like just tack on a $10-15 premium fee to use 4g, on top of the $30 unlimited plan. and as far as the EVO is concerned...even if the tbolt were the same as the EVO, i'd still buy it....lol. the EVO was WAY ahead of anything 8 months ago and would still be the only 4g device if vzn got it today. verizon's devices are typically a bit out of date, compared to other carriers. we got the inc when sprint got the EVO...we got the fascinate a bit later than other carriers got their version of the galaxy s. aside from the line of motorolas (which other carriers just don't have comparables for), the other manufacturers typically have have newer, more updated devices for other carriers. i always just figured that verizon puts more time and resources into their networks, where other carriers put a bit more time and resources into their devices and the manufacturers that provide them. just my theory though.

iPhone Skypes on 3G and works perfect for me. Also just called Apple and the iPhone warranty is 14 days to receive Verizon promo again. HTC is horrible and way overpriced but buy whatever you want no one cares.

haha. As opposed to apple? And I'm sure A LOT of Evo and Incredible owners would disagree.

lol..overpriced? apple is the ONLY smartphone i've ever seen that goes for $300 at the discount price. i really could care less what anyone gets. people should get what they like. i'm not trying to convince anyone that the tbolt is any better than their phone...just pointing out the specs, which, to me, are impressive.

HP TouchPad has better specs than the iPad but it runs terrible and laggy. iPad is superior to any of the new tablets with better "specs" Apple makes quality products and I rather pay more for quality

The Touchpad won't even be out til this summer so you can't begin to even compare them. And the OS looked pretty smooth to me granted I've always believed that given the right hardware and developers, WebOS would be the best mobile os platform.

I agree with you. Apple makes very good products that run very smooth and refined. It's not that other phones aren't good, as they are but none of them that I have tried run as smooth and work as well as an iphone. The Thunderbolt looks good on paper as a lot of phones do but not perform that well in real use.

Return it and exjoy your new phone. You are free to spend your money on whatever you want.
I don't get why people have debates about these phones like they are the ones that designed them. Who cares? If you goal for the day is to make someone feel inferior about their choice of phone, then you must be pretty bored.

You do know the Thunderbolt is just like the Evo that's been out for a while now.So when you get your Thunderbolt your gonna feel the same way cause the Evo has been out easily 6 months by now.All HtC did was slap another name on it.My last phone was the Evo but I would chose the iphone over it anyday. The Thunderbolt is not gonna have the sprint TV which came in handy so many times.

Android is just too complicated for a lot of people and they don't have the willingness to take the time to get used to it or customize it to their liking. And it's rougher around the edges but the ceiling for potential is much higher than iOS will ever be.

but exactly how much computing are you going to be doing on your phone, the more they put inside the more battery life will drop. besides a few games, apps to tell me where to eat and some interent surfing its used for entertainment like songs, movies, and pictures. I think the iphone is the best for all of these so far..and thats coming from a droid, droid2, and droidx owner. but its also just my opinion

This has hardly anything to do with the original post... It's just a reply to other posts I read on here. I owned a DROID 1 before I switched to the iPhone 4.
{edit for TOS violation}
I probably switched ROM's once or twice a week just to see what was out there. Yeah, it was fun to customize the crap out of the phone, but I think the UI on my DROID was very clunky. Keep in mind, I'm not speaking for every Android device out there. I thought that there were way too many updates. If there were an Android powered phone that could stay in existence for as long as each iPhone model does then I would start to give Android a lot of credit. There will always be the ongoing war between iOs, Android OS, and Windows OS and I think Apple will always be many steps ahead of their competition with their seamless OS and sleek physical features.

3 hours of actual use is ok with me. i get close to three hours of actual use now, and plenty of standby time to get through the day on one charge. from looking at the iphone battery threads, it appears that iphones only get 4-5 hours of actual use, plus standby...so iphone has a much better battery, but either way, you have to charge it every night (or at least, i will). plus i keep a spare so on days i'm using it very heavily, i can just change that battery out. i bought 2 cheapies on ebay for $20 total. i keep one at the office, and one in my car. then if i have to, i pop out the battery and switch them. i prefer this to having it plugged in so while i know that battery is better for iphone, i prefer to be able to just switch them out, than to have to plug it in. no phone will make it through a full day for me if i'm using it very heavily.....and on light days, any phone will get me through a day. if i could have my way, they'd put the iphone battery in an android and i'd be set....lol.
