I'm completely dumbfounded that after taking nearly 6 months longer than promised to deliver the latest version of Android to the Rezound, Verizon and HTC have managed to screw it up.
This release is so buggy. I've had so many problems that I am currently awaiting my THIRD replacement phone in three weeks, and it's all because of this horrible update.
Here are the issues that need addressed, and mind you that none of them existed BEFORE the update:
1-Browser loads are choppy and at a limited resolution, larger pages go blank when scrolling, browser becomes unresponsive after limited use (screen shots are attached).
2-Data network connection is routinely and randomly lost.
3-System "forgets" settings (wifi on/off, default applications, ringtones and alerts) after restart.
4-System forever prompts that "Temporary files may be erased" when ever a restart is performed.
5-Timed-out downloads stay stuck in the notification bar, despite restart/shutdown/battery pull.
I'm sure there are more issues, but the use of my phone has been limited since the update because I've changed devices three times now and am awaiting number four.
For what it's worth, aside from my initial device, the two replacements have had no additional software installed on them. All devices have been stock and unrooted. I have done battery pulls, sim card pulls, factory resets, memory and cache clears. You name it, I've already tried it.
This is disgusting, and is the whole problem with Android. I've been a huge supporter of the OS, but when consumers are left out in the cold for months waiting for an update that arrives as much as a mess as this, it's enough to make you want to go to Apple. I've owned a Galaxy Nexus, and the stock, unmolested Android experience is sublime. It's when the carriers start cramming their proprietary and marketing hand-job deal, unremovable resource consuming bloatware onto the devices, and manufacturers feel the urge to put their own little twist onto the OS with overindulgent launchers like Sense, the whole experience is RUINED.
When my third replacement arrives, I will not be installing the faulty update, and I will never again buy a device from HTC or Verizon.

I've been on Wi-fi a majority of the time. That does however seem to lag up a tad from time to time. I am fairy secure in saying it is not my internet.
I have no 4g in this area. I didn't really get the phone for 4g properties. As the days go by and depending on when I am home or not it seems that issues sort of come and go depending on what I am trying to do with the phone.
I never noticed any real issues before now.

Got a replacement RAZR today. It has ICS update installed. Will not work
with my Apple WiFi router either.
Guess it's time for a new router (not Apple) or an iPhone. Sad...but true,
nothing more to say.
If anyone does have an Apple router do NOT do the ICS on it phone until
they do the update to the update.
Good luck to all !!!

After reading your post - you sound just like me!! I too am on my 3 rd replacement since the stupid update. I went from having a great phone to pretty much a brick. Some of my issues have been:
- Excessive overheating
- Non responsive phone - takes forever to open an application.
- Slow making phone calls - again non responsive.
- Dropped connections - including wifi
- Browser loading - horrible!
I contacted tech support two days after doing the OTA to complain. Went through the usual "script" (battery,sd card, factory reset) still nada. Was assured I was being sent out a "new" phone that would have ICS already on it. Package came - no new phone and no ICS, just a regular recertified. Almost immediately it began the OTA update - thought great this time it would work out - guess what? NOPE!!! I can't disconnect phone calls cause the screen won't respond. Every-time I try to go into settings it tells me it encountered a problem,...seriously what the H***?! Once again I call only this time they inform me they would replace the phone with the original Galaxy...why would I downgrade and give up my awesome 8MP camera for a 5MP? If you want to trade this it should be on par with what I have. I now sit waiting for the next recertified phone to come. Do they even bother putting these phones through the QA department before sending out?.No way I'm doing the update. So glad we spent months waiting for this update and it's buggy. Waste!! After 10+ plus of being with Verizon don't so me renewing my contract again - time to shop around.

I feel your pain!!! I have had numerous small problems since my update 2 days ago. My biggest is that now my phone will not connect to my home wifi (Apple), which it did before update. They offered to send me another phone at 1 point, but are out of Rezound & wanted to send a Razor. I just upgraded my phone 7 wks ago because my Thunderbolt died & now they offer me a refurbished Razor. I too have been with Verizon for quite awhile & have 3 lines, but am getting very frustrated. Best of luck

I am also having problems since the ICS update. The phone worked fine before.
My issues:
- Random audio skipping when connected to a Bluetooth speaker/headset
- Wifi turns off on it's own
- Slow browser
- Apps freezing (that never had problems before)
This is my second phone. I will not trade it in for a Motorola phone. My Droid X was the buggiest phone I've ever owned.
Sigh. Why can't things just work properly?

Because OEMs like HTC put their own custom UI on top of Android, like HTC's Sense. Instead of just updating ICS to work with the device's hardware, the OS update takes longer to get to devices because it has to work with their UI and their UI has to work with it.
This is the root of hellish delays in updates. This is the root of bug-laden updates like this one. This is why I'm only buying Nexus devices from now on. A Nexus device is essentially one with "stock" Android, and thus gets updates effectively and quickly from Google.

It is rediculous to have a smartphone and have the ability to port the operating system of your choice but to void protection plans and warranties by gaining (edited content on this post to comply with) access. The open source OS choices have always attracted me but the terms and conditions for my phone to be 'legit' completely (edited content). When you have to wait on a carrier you pay an exorbitant amount to, monthly, for MAYBE updates which end up being butchered by the time the OTA is pushed it's takes all of the fun out of it!

I'd like to add something that has been occurring lately that did not happen before now.
Messages on my phone wont load. It will tell me when I have new messages, I can see all messages and the small bits of the message. However, most messages just won't load up. I will push to look at messages from one person but it will sit there and say 'loading' for dang near forever. I'm lucky if they load up at all. It doesn't seem like there is anything wrong with my phone, so what is it then? It will be like that for nearly a whole day. No amount of restarting or anything will fix it.
Also, it would appear that when I try to delete messages when its messed up, it actually gets even more broken then before. The messages do not delete at all and usually make the messages from that person completely un-accessible.

@Drakuli - Not being able to open or delete text messages sounds like a very bad time! Since you last posted this, have you been able to delete any threads or open one to view? It's possible that there is corrupt text somewhere in there which is causing this issue. A possible solution that should work for you is to use a third party application to delete the last few texts you received prior to the messaging app reacting this way. Once deleted, go back to the stock app and see if you can access it with no problem!
Let us know how it goes, as we'd like to help out further if needed!
Thank you Drakuli, and take care.

I am on my 4th Rezound phone. After about 9 months to a year it stops connecting to the internet, then it gets VERY hot and self destructs. Each time Verizon replaces it with a "reconditioned" phone after about 2 to 3 weeks. In the meantime you are without a phone. I had to fight to get Verizon to give me a loaner on the last phone. This passed week the latest one would not connect to the hotel Wifi and heated up like a hot potato again. In the morning it was totally dead, just like the last 3 phones. I am NOT doing this again! It's ridiculous. I am going to buy a reliable phone and get a Smart Talk plan. At least I won't have to pay for connectivity when I don't have a phone! Oh, and a frequent complaint is that whoever you call has a hard time hearing you. . . especially on answering/messaging services. The recordings are pretty (removed). Loved that phone, but am tired of making the sacrifices.
