I'm completely dumbfounded that after taking nearly 6 months longer than promised to deliver the latest version of Android to the Rezound, Verizon and HTC have managed to screw it up.
This release is so buggy. I've had so many problems that I am currently awaiting my THIRD replacement phone in three weeks, and it's all because of this horrible update.
Here are the issues that need addressed, and mind you that none of them existed BEFORE the update:
1-Browser loads are choppy and at a limited resolution, larger pages go blank when scrolling, browser becomes unresponsive after limited use (screen shots are attached).
2-Data network connection is routinely and randomly lost.
3-System "forgets" settings (wifi on/off, default applications, ringtones and alerts) after restart.
4-System forever prompts that "Temporary files may be erased" when ever a restart is performed.
5-Timed-out downloads stay stuck in the notification bar, despite restart/shutdown/battery pull.
I'm sure there are more issues, but the use of my phone has been limited since the update because I've changed devices three times now and am awaiting number four.
For what it's worth, aside from my initial device, the two replacements have had no additional software installed on them. All devices have been stock and unrooted. I have done battery pulls, sim card pulls, factory resets, memory and cache clears. You name it, I've already tried it.
This is disgusting, and is the whole problem with Android. I've been a huge supporter of the OS, but when consumers are left out in the cold for months waiting for an update that arrives as much as a mess as this, it's enough to make you want to go to Apple. I've owned a Galaxy Nexus, and the stock, unmolested Android experience is sublime. It's when the carriers start cramming their proprietary and marketing hand-job deal, unremovable resource consuming bloatware onto the devices, and manufacturers feel the urge to put their own little twist onto the OS with overindulgent launchers like Sense, the whole experience is RUINED.
When my third replacement arrives, I will not be installing the faulty update, and I will never again buy a device from HTC or Verizon.

Hmmm?
I am not sure what to say...
I've received the ICS update on 08/03/2012.
Not one problem that I have noticed thus far. I like the ICS update with smoother scrolling, but overall its not really
worth all of the hooplah that people were screaming about.

Well, nicely put, I hate your guts for having a painless, wonderful experience.
The screenshots don't lie; I've definitely had issues.
On top of it, this company's HORRIBLE customer service refuses to supply me with a BRAND NEW Rezound instead of a refurbished Rezound, even after receiving two defective refurbs already. The first one constanly loses connection with the SIM card, forcing me to do a battery pull to get it to work for another 5-30 minutes, and the second one didn't register touches accurately and the usb port was loose.
Unreal.
I'm closing my accounts now.

I agree, I haven't had any of those problems after updating, but I was looking forward to this great change and really when I went to Verizon about something else I even aske dthem if I had downloaded the whole thing cause there isn't much difference. Oh well no problems with my Rezound.

That's an announcement post, not a promise for a certain date. However, the blog stated august 2nd. Again no promise.
Just (edited post to comply with ), solves a lot of issues. You aren't going to get a brand new device. Yeah I understand the whole I paid for a new device thing, but thats just the way it is. Industry standard to be sent out a used phone when yours is used as well.

Are you two cupcakes going to keep taking turns saying what I've already said (HTC announces in Feb that ICS is coming for Rezound, it doesn't come until 6 months later in August; 6 months), or did either of you have something helpful to contribute?

Well, did you have a question, or did you just want to complain? Without a question, there really isn't anything helpful to contribute.

Huh,
All my issues with the Rezound went away with the update. My phone has always warned about losing temporary files when doing a restart, even with GB.
All you running a task killer of any kind? Those will cause all kinds of problems if they are not set up properly.

I agree that this ICS update is terrible. I just got it a few days ago, so far my problem has been that I have not been able to get onto the 3g/4g network at all. It constantly says "turning on". At one point it said my sim card wasn't installed, it keeps force closing things. Most notably it says android.phone has stopped working, and it makes me force close it a bunch of time in a row. Worst of all, the battery dies after 8 hours even if I don't use the phone. And if I use it, it dies in less than an hour. It's ridiculous, and I'll be annoyed if I have to factory reset and lose everything I have on the phone.

Thanks for the information guys! I don't think I will accept the ICS update... I'm just going to wait for iOS6 and the iPhone5. I will keep my Rezound but I will either manual flash & manually add ICS if it takes the iPhone5 as long as I'm sure that it will...

I as well have downloaded and updated to the long awaited ICS update. I have had the SIM card not installed error, and it seems less battery life!

I haven't any issues with the browser yet. I just got the update last night... I personally don't like it at all but most of it is cosmetic on my end.
My phone was actually giving me fits before I finally caved in and did the update. I felt like they set me up for failure in this way... because I like... Nothing, about the update.

If you don't think you have browser issues, then try this.
In the stock "Internet" browser, go into settings and check off on Full Site or Desktop Site, whatever it's called in ICS. Then go to Facebook (full, not mobile version) and scroll down, then down, then down, then up, then down. It's get's all choppy, flicking between blank and content, patches of lower res area pops in and out, until it finally becomes unresponsive.
I want to make sure I'm not alone in that experience, and would really be blown away if I was after having that same experience on three different Rezounds.
I'm on my fourth Rezound now, and I'll be damned if I do the update on it. There's no issues with it. It just sucks we get the half-assed ICS experience. I had a Galaxy Nexus when it first came out and ICS was amazing on it (the phone had hardware issues that couldn't be overlooked though).

Yeah thats the only thing I saw last night. By default now it wants to load some sort of mobile version of the website I normally visit even though the domain name is the exact same... I had to go to the settings on the page and push on 'desktop' or something like that. But it loaded the page just fine... Plus it was Deviantart.com a website for art... and it loaded up okay for me. Maybe facebook is different? I know they are both running a lot of flash now.

flash content. have you installed adobe flash since you got a replacement. if not, it's been pulled from the market so it's too late. ICS is supposed to support flash, but there's plenty of people having issues. and why did they pull flash from the market? because it is no longer going to support mobile devices. these websites have known this for years. i don't know why everyone has just converted to html5 (or whatever the new standard is?)?

I'm feeling like it is because facebook is adjusting their site again. The facebook app took over my phone without my knowledge. I had to go into it and disable all updates and auto refresh rates that were not there before. I basically only use it for contacts.

I as well have had the browser screen becoming choppy and then just white! But, interestingly enough..I am not using the Stock Browser - I am using the Dolphin Browser!
I also have been having network connectivity issues. Especially when I am locked onto 3g only. It has what I like to refer to as "brain farts" where the phone just seems to upload only, but won't download..so, I have to refresh the page 100 times before it wakes up and continues browsing!
I have heard rumors that there is an authentication issue that VZW isn't acknowledging - one method with 3g and another different method with 4g and they often conflict thus causing the random drop of connection to the network! It becomes frustrating! I have had them send me a new SIM and battery cover (for the antenna)...and it improved it a bit..but it may be the placebo effect as well...
The ICS update is crap. 100% crap. Long awaited and no improvements. blah
