I have had the HTC Thunderbolt since day one and just recently I am noticing "MAJOR" issues with service constantly dropping or connection errors! Is anyone else having this issue? I continuously soft boot, reset, shut down/restart and pull battery but to no avail! HELP!!!!!!

I had this problem. It was my extended battery. Once I put my old, standard battery back in my phone, connectivity got better. I read online that there's an issue with the phone being able to make proper contact with the gold pieces on the extended battery cover.

My TB has been a dog since I got it almost 18 months ago. It has never held a reliable data connection--but it has been much worse over the last few months. It also freezes regularly. While I am moderately hopeful that ICS will fix some things, I'm really just looking forward to the S4 being released so I can drop this horrible piece of junk.

Yes, I've had three dropped calls in the two days since the ICS install. And when the call drops, the phone is dead - screen is black and phone is off. A full reboot is required. This was not a problem before ICS.

Since the software update, I can't load internet half or more of the time, and by the time I do, my battery is dead; sluggish keyboard entry, sometimes I can't even make a phone call, phone shuts down by itself. I thought the Thunderbolt was bad before; now it's worse. I do have an extended life battery, because the original one wouldn't even last one day (even without surfing, games, etc.). I will try putting my old battery back in, but it wasn't very good before either. I have asked Verizon for a credit on my bill because my phone is pretty much useless most of the time now. When I complained at a Verizon corporate store, they told me it was because I got the phone at Best Buy that I was getting an inferior product. Didn't Verizon sell the phone originally?? Not sure what kind of argument that is. I hate this phone.

Seriously, try using the regular battery. See what happens. I had to ditch my extended battery and look for a power outlet everywhere I go. But now my phone works perfectly. Good luck!
