I have noticed that on Verizon's website under the section that shows you when certain phones have updates coming up that the ThunderBolt site has a statement saying "Coming Soon", but if you look at the attached PDF files they are for the latest update (2.11.605.9). Does anyone know if there is another update coming out or did some forget to remove the "Coming Soon" from the ThunderBolt update site?

Im guessing that they forgot to change it because I havent seen anything on any new leaks or coming updates/// Rumor was that ICS may come to the TB but I wouldnt hold my breath because I dont see HTC investing the time to intergrate Sense into a another update after the GB update but I could be wrong and get hit with a surprise.

I stand corrected.... Today a new leak has been announced which mean a new build may be hitting with HTC Thunderbolt 1.01.1520.0 MR4 with Gingerbread v2.3.6 and Sense 3.0
We have to see if any update on this..

I just bought my Thunderbolt a couple of days ago. When I called Verizon this morning asking how to get the software updated, I was directed to call HTC, as Verizon doesn't control software updates. When I called HTC technical support (866 963-0953), they told me they had had issues with the software upgrade, and where no longer doing automatic upgrades. If I wanted Gingerbread I was going to have to call their warranty department (800 229-1235), as that department is now handling all Gingerbread upgrades. I find this a little disconcerting, but I'm going to try to call them tomorrow, as the warranty department is not open on the weekends.
I also found the fact that Verizon doesn't know this to be a bit disconcerting, as well, but I don't know when HTC changed their policy.

This is the first I heard anything of the process changing.. If this is the case then I say the update game will be a unique situation and a number of users wont get any new updates..

I know this post is old, but since then, HTC & Verizon confirmed that the Thunderbolt would have update to Android 4.0, ICS. HTC said ICS would be released by 8/31/12 for the Thunderbolt. Since that time HTC says it is working with Verizon to get ICS update out, but is has been a month overdue with no word on what the problem is. My thought is that Verizon is going to drop the update. HTC's ICS was leaked out and a MOD is on the net, reports are that it works but it is a little sluggish. Latest word from HTC is SOS. Nothing from Verizon yet.

HTC has since reported that the ICS update has been delayed. They reported this around Sept. 1st.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
