I have a problem with my HTC Thunderbolt running 2.11.605.5 update.
My car can not access the TB's phone book via Bluetooth after pairing and connecting the two. After pairing, when connecting the two, I get prompted on the phone asking if I want to allow the PB access request from the car. I've selected allow (I've also checked box for always, then hit allow), but the car never gets access to the phone book.
I've tried re-pairing several times (i.e. delete the phone from the car kit's BT device list, delete the car from the phone's BT Device list, then starting the pairing process over.)
PBAP is working correctly with the car and my Bionic (5.5.893), and my T-Mobile BB 9780.
The car accessing the TB's phone book means that I would see the NAME of the person calling me on the car's screen, rather than just the phone number.
Is there a know issue with the Thunderbolt's BT PBAP profile?

This is a restriction of the bluetooth stacks that are installed for that device, the stacks or the devices hardware does not have the support to allow access to this options communication... So until this information is updated you may not be able toaccess the phone book data...
Normally I would think the devices security could be a issue but since you recived notification to allow this transmission I dont think this is the situation.

Verizon and HTC advertise this phone as having BT PAB support. So if the stack in the phone is the problem (as it would appear since the Bionic and BB 9780 work fine with the same car/car kit), then I would hope that VZW and HTC fix this.

There is a easy way to identify the problem device, if you are out near a store that has stereos setup in a display (Bestbuy or Walmart) try pairing the device with one of the devices, if the feature works fine then it is the version of the firmware that you have in the cars head unit... No device is guaranteed to function with ever device because they do not have a way to update the firmware for hardware or software changes..
My Dual card TV access this feature without issues but my Kenwood wont work correctly when trying to get PBAP to function correctly... Sometimes things are what it is so until you verify the issue you cant find a solution..
