Thunderbolt stops receiving text messages

It seems that I am not the only one with an issue.  For about the past two months, my Thunderbolt will just stop receiving texts.  I still have service, internet works, phone calls go through, I just stop getting texts.  A phone reset will fix it, but other than sending myself a text every hour to see if it is still working, I am at a loss.  Anyone have any success resolving this issue?

Take the battery out and put it back in, turn it off and on, put in airplane mode and take off airplane mode, and turn off mobile data and turn it back on, one of those should at least work, if not, call tech and that could be a device issue. It works like a charm for me. It's just one of those things alot of phones do, including mine, it is annoying, I know, but these are the remedies.

I have found it to be a network issue, rather than a device issue - though one could argue both.  It only happens when I am at work, and my phone seeks for a signal.  It fluctuates between 1X, 3G, and 4G.  It's not the building, because a co-worker lives a block away and has the same issue at home on his Bionic.  Eventually the phone "gives up" searching for a good signal.  Considering I live in an area with nearly 2 million people, and the largest Navy base in the world, this is not acceptable cell coverage.  But it's better than Sprint or AT&T.

And thanks Ashton - I know the bandaids.  Just wish there was a real solution, not a "remedy."  Droid/HTC should resolve the issue with VZW, because I LOVE my Droid, but I am slowly being pushed to an iPhone........and I don't want to go that route.....

You don't want to know how many calls I have received about the iPhone... Trust me you never want that, at least until Apple gets it right, I've troubleshot so many devices and they all go to tech support, because basic troubleshooting never works. There are so many people with the issue. I have Sprint currently but I'm being screwed over in proce, but I'm stuck in a contract.. My friend has the same problem as well, the bandaids will have to do for the time being though, and if they don't work, tech WILL replace the phone, not every phone has the same thing, you may get lucky.
