Verizon Marketing..IMO

For us Thunderbolt users, it appears the Verizon Marketing/Sales department is in charge of the ICS update.  I bought my phone on the first day the Thunderbolt was available and I'm eleigble for an upgrade in November.  Most likely VZ want's to hold the ICS update long enough for owners to get fed up and buy a new phone, locking in new contracts.

Unfortunately for VZ, if I make that decision, I'm buying a phone outright, going month to month and most likely changing carriers.

Don't forget, you are eligible for an upgrade at the 20th month of your 24 month contract.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Great addition. Many Verizon customers never realize this. Which is why many early upgrades get denied outside of a 30 day window before the date because they are already getting it 4 months early.

Software doesn't really do much of anything...

But check sprint, a lot of their cdma phones aren't updated either, its not a carrier thing its a technology thing..

But continue to be worked up over a minor cosmetic change, i'm sure its all the effort you put into worrying about what android version your phone has...

Thanks, VZ Marketing for your repsonses.  I'm not worried at all about the ICS update, but it is fascinating to see your VZ Marketing Dept. responses.  First, tryinbg to steer the conversation away from the ICS update and then whining about how other carriers aren't updating phones.

When my contract is up I'm leaving VZ.

Have a nice day

What marketing team? The original post was written on the Verizon Wireless Community Forum which is a peer to peer forum of customers. Customers responded to the post.

If you wanted a VZW employee to respond, you might have to wait about a week. If they do reply, they are clearly marked as Wireless employees by their rank and avatar.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Seems to me like HTC thinks it their own fault that the ICS release has been delayed (see link).  Maybe HTC wants you to buy another one of their phones sooner rather than latter.  And no I am not part of the "HTC Marketing team".

Good luck.
