I want to use some customized ringtones on my HTC Thunderbolt, so the first thing to do is put the ringtones (MP3 files) on the phone. Now, when I connect the phone to my computer via USB and use Windows Explorer, there are several folders on the phone, plus the root directory. Where do I put the MP3 files so that they will appear on the available ringtones list?

On the root directory of your SD card create a folder called Audio and inside it create 2 more folders (one called Notifications and the other called Ringtones). Put you mp3 that you want to use as ringtones into the Ringtones folder and if you want more sounds for Notifications (text messages for example) you can add sounds into that folder.

/ media / audio / alarms
