Where did Skype video go?

One of the reason ( and there are many ) that I bought the HTC Thunderbolt is that as stated at CES it would have Skype video chat such as my wifes Verizon Iphone (facetime). But it does not, is it Verizon or Skype? And will it be available or not? Is this false advertising? Just  little upset about this.

Skype was removed because of issues they were having.  It should be available "soon". http://www.droid-life.com/2011/03/17/skype-mobile-with-video-is-still-on-the-way/

Skype is coming, I somehow doubt that Skype (the company) is going to put this off any longer than needed. Also, I thought the Iphones could only facetime with other apple products, can they use skype?

I believe there is a Skype app for the iPhone but I'm not sure? There are other video call apps beside facetime though.

K8 as with any phone when u get it when its first released there are going to a few things they're not to have on it right away as i found out with my X when i got it. Matter of Fact Two days after i got My X. a up-date came out. I was alittle surprised but went on with it same thing happen with my D inc. even though it had been in the Market for a While there was that issue with it not wanting to hook up with the 3G or Data an after the 3rd phone an a 3 hour session with a T 3 teck it was fixed.  So with a new phone that has just came to market you'll just have to be Patient. An I have seen one for myself an they're cool.   So have fun with It but if it Still  makes U upset  I've got a Excellent In shape X i'll trade Ya!!   :smileyvery-happy:   Ha Ha.  :smileywink:

Skype, Tango, Qik, and a slew of others that also could be found on Android.  Facetime only works from iDevice/Mac to iDevice/Mac while the other of course doesn't care for the platform.

Honestly out of all the apps.  Facetime or Skype have given me the best clarity.  The only problem I have with those two is...  No Bluetooth support.

❤️ Fring video calling. I know it works on Android and Symbian, idk if it works on iPhone as well but I'd assume so. Works great, quality is good.

I wanted to own a Thunderbolt.  Instead I went with the Iphone4 based on the issues that seem to plaque the Droid support.  The Fascinate (a great screen and device) had problems without 2.2 OS.  Then the Thunderbolt was "suppose" to come out in Feb '11 with Skype and lots of sizzle.  After a few weeks I quit waiting and went with the Iphone 4.  It HAS Skype, it has Facetime - it works and the the battery easily lasts all day.

I really like to tinker so I've followed the release of the Thunderbolt this week.  Based on all the problems, I made a great decision in Feb.  The Iphone 4 is tough to tinker with but quite simply - it just works now.

I'd still like to go back to a Droid - but I refuse to carry a device with a humpty back on it and crippled apps.

Maybe when some of the new ones come out - still hopeful.
