Why are my text messages in pending status?

When I send a text my contacts do not recieve it, I look at the text and it has a small clock on it, I press it and it says pending? How do I correct this?

Did you have an active cellular data connection?  Either 3G or 4G.

I know what an inconvenience it must be experiencing difficulties with your text messages. Have you noticed if your not able to send to certain contacts or is this happening with everyone? Have you tried power cycling your device and retrying?

If using a third party application, please remove the application and retry with the preinstalled messaging application. I also recommend you clear cache and data for the messaging application by going to: Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All. If you have an auto signature please turn off and retest. Let us know if you're still experiencing difficulties after performing these steps.

I have the same problem, but not with that phone. Restarted several times, pulled the battery, deleted cache, and no love. More suggestions? I was recently traveling/roaming when the texts wouldn't go. I was texting to another Vzw user.

Can you guys make phone calls where this is? sounds like a signal issue

Yes, I was able to call the person who I was texting. Messages are still listed as "Sending..." on my phone.
