is your tbolt ALWAYS warm?

my incredible would get warm after i had been using it (calls, browsing, etc) for a while. however, my tbolt is always warm. i could have it sitting on my desk for hours with no use at all and when i pick it up, the bottom of it is a bit warm. is this normal or is the battery bad?

well now it says 29 and doesn't feel warm? i have turned off 4g so maybe that was the cause? i wasn't running anything and haven't used the hotspot feature. it wasn't "hot"....just a bit warm. it just seemed odd. i'll turn 4g on later today and see if it gets warm again. for now, i'm trying to see how much more juice i can get by running it on 3g only.

A LOT.  Most of the battery drain I've noticed on this device is LTE realated.

One app I would suggest is juice defender, it will turn off the raido all together untill you recv a call/txt or when you try to make one.

On extreme setting I could get around 8 hours of awake time, so about 12-13 hours off charger.

The cool thing is you are not impacted, as soon as someone calls you it turns the radio back on and when you go to make a call it turns right back on. It is a pretty cool app

I would say maybe the battery is bad, or you are running a lot of apps in the backround by accident..

How hot is the area where it the phone is?

Or using it as a hotspot maybe?

Check the htc battery widget and see what the temp is. Normal useage and resting my battery is between 25-30 degress.

ha, I found out last night that laying on it is no beueno.  Fell asleep with iheartradio running and rolled over on it.  Felt something hot and the temp was up to ~120F and the led was flashing green and red which is apparently to tell you it's a little too hot. lol  The highest I had gotten before that was about 110F and that was with iheartradio running and playing angry birds and I could feel it through the case I have. Granted I'm sure being at 1.4GHz doesn't help. :smileywink:

haha yeah, I might have a problem then.  I'm now even more in love with the phone now that it has builtin quick toggles. :smileyhappy:

well i meant to hit reply and mistakenly marked as solved...but that post was a s good as any so oh well.

pardon my ignorance, but if the radio is off then how does the phone even know a call is coming in? or does it turn off 4g and activate 3g and then automatically turn on 4g when someone calls? and YES...it is the 4g radio killin this thing! since i've been on 3g only today, i am at 4:13 "up time" and :33 "awake time and have over 80% left on the battery. i believe i was at 30-40% when i was using 4g after about the same amount of up and awake times. at this pace this will actually be better than my incredible and likely be good enough for me to keep it. i'm lovin it so far. i'll check out juice defender if it can do what i think you mean, automatically.

pjnc....how do i add the toggles? i have the ones that were preset on the phone when i got it (gps, bluetooth, wifi, brightness). but what do you add to the homescreen to get to these options (i haven't messed with them as i don't know how to get them back if i remove them....lol)

I believe what he's talking about is just disabling background data not necessarily the cell radio.

As for the toggles in the pull down tray, you can't exactly just slap those on. :smileywink:  The normal toggles that come on the phone from the factory are under Settings if you go to add a widget.
