sound quality issues on the thunderbolt?

I noticed I had to be right up close to the microphone hole when talking to someone, did not see anything in phone for changing the microphone gain.  Just got 2 Thunderbolts yesterday and getting bad feeling about this phone.  May opt for 3 day return tomorrow.  battery issues and now this, just need a dependable phone that is there when I need it.

droids use batterys..

 

I don't know what issues you are having with voice though sorry
