When it get released, they just reported that the update is coming for sure but no date was given, besides what about ICS is such a big deal for you?  It looks like just another headache for users..

Straight off their facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/notes/htc/ice-cream-sandwich-updates-the-north-american-edition/10150786212...

We have more good news related to Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, and can confirm that upgrades are planned for Verizon Wireless customers with the HTC Rhyme, HTC Thunderbolt, and DROID Incredible 2 by HTC, as well as the already announced HTC Rezound.

In addition, the HTC Raider is on the list to receive ICS for customers of Rogers and Bell in Canada. Stay tuned for more news on Ice Cream Sandwich releases in the coming weeks.

Just like wildman said, you'll get it... when you get it.

As Wildman said, nothing specific, but the last I saw, the original statement of early 2012 has now changed to later in the year, which could mean about anything, but definitely gives them more wiggle room.

I'm on the fence and leaning toward wanting to wait until I see some reports from people who have downloaded it since my phone is working fine right now. I'm just wondering if they'll actually give us a choice this time, or just push it to shut everyone up.

Face unlock, proper use of both cores, swipe away notifications (as well as other things), no shutter-lag camera (hopefully), lockscreen notification access... or, you could just click 's link.  Hopefully all the new features will be included, but we'll see what HTC includes.

Actually, its a big deal because it was the selling point of the phone.

The phone was touted by HTC and the Store Sales Reps as ICS Ready.  This was something that Motorola Razr was not saying.

When the phone was first available in November, it had an ICS upgrade set for Early 2012.  Now, I should been skeptical because I went through the same thing with my Droid X and the magical upgrade to Android 2.1.  But that was Motorola and not HTC, so I gave HTC the benefit of the doubt and bought the phone launch weekend.

Now, don't get me wrong... I love the phone.  I think its probably the most awesome phone Verizon has.  My thing is that the Galaxy Nexus shipped with ICS.

Why is it when I phone has to be updated, that there is always a fiasco to get the next version of software out?

To back peddle a moment, the big thing with Android 2.1 was that Microsoft Exchange would not properly sync with the phones under the upgrade.  For Android 4, we have been completely left in the dark.

We can see new phones coming out with ICS and the Gnex already has yet we can't get the upgrade we were promised.
