I was under the impression that we'd receive the lollipop update this week and haven't so I wanted some verification as to when verizon is releasing it

That is for the unlocked, unbranded developers version.  No other versions have gotten it yet.  This is their "soak" test devices before they start pushing it out.

I know I'm going out on a limb here, but any idea as to when it should be released?

Sometime within the next 2 months more than likely.

It's still has bugs and Google is busy, as Tidbits said it's in soak testing.

Hogwash.. what's been released is the same version that will end up on your Verizon phone.  It's been approved and released by HTC.  There's no more "testing" going on.  Verizon just needs time to load all their garbage on it like vznavigator (who uses that anyway when there are tons of free options?).  As soon as they get done putting their junk on it, they'll push it out to us.

Too bad everything you just said is completely wrong...Verizon changes nothing. They can request changes but they do not do it. HTC does.

Sorry man... HTC says you are wrong with their update schedule. Sony AOSP project with Google, and Motorola said the same thing.

Carriers don't touch the code or put the bloatware on themselves. Manufacturers do all the work. The only thing carriers do is based on the options manufacturers want to give carriers.

Requesting a manufacturer to make changes is the same as making the changes, except it isn't done in a Verizon facility and any blame can be put on the manufacturer if something goes wrong.  In other words, manufacturers wouldn't put bloatware on phones if the carrier would just leave it alone.

Or Manufacturers not give the options(Ala Apple for example) for additional money in their pockets. Food for thought. Just think if all manufacturers did just that? You think carriers will stop carrying 100% of their line up? As long as manufacturers give these options that is what happens.

Another food for thought in Europe it's illegal to give a lot of these options. Carriers install apps themselves when a person signs a contract, but can be removed.
