My HTCm8 keeps acting like I am holding the power button when I am not touching the screen. Tried a soft reset and basically keeping my phone turned off because it is constantly bringing up the message to shut down. Also get a message to hold the volume button and power button for ten seconds.

No new downloads, using my one and only phone charger and I have only had it since August 2014. Any solutions out there?

rigymom, I'm sorry to read of the trouble that you're experiencing with the device.  We want to make sure that your device works properly. You provided some good details. Were there any update failures? Does the power button appear to be depressed in anyway or is the button popped all the way?
