How do I stop group texts forever

I am tired of getting group texts at all times of the day and night.  How do I turn off this feature?

You tell the person sending them to not include you within those group tests, if they need to tell you something, do so individually.

That is all well and good but the phone should be capable of stopping this function.

However, it isn't capable.

Does Verizon have a way to end group texts?

No.  You can block numbers, but only 5 for free.  After that you can pay for the Premium Blocking service every month.  I have tried to find apps before that would do this, however I never found one.  Even deleting the group message thread will not remove you from the communication.
