What is Google Play Music error 38 and how do I stop it?

After updating my Verizon HTC One M8 to Lollipop update on 3/4 , I now get an error 38 trying to play anything in Google Play Music & TV (streaming or download).

I've done the clear application cache, data, deleted all downloads, restarted the phone etc. but the problem persists. I did notice this in the Android support forums.

Anyone else with this problem? Any solutions ? I have a lot of $$ invested in movies and TV shows.

Updates are supposed to make your phone better eyeh8_2w8! And you should certainly get what you've invested in! When did you update to Lollipop? It can take a few days for the phone to normalize. However, it could also be that some of the apps are no longer compatible with the new software. Please try running phone in Safe Mode for 24 hours, use as normal during this time, and see if this clears up. http://vz.to/1FA8r8l If it improves, it's likely to be an app causing this to happen. Please keep us posted.

Did you delete the updates along with cache and data?  Try disabling and re-enabling the whole suite of Play apps and Google Play Services?

There was an update to the app this morning bringing it to V 3.6.16 (on 3/16/15).  All seems to work fine again now.
