dsl, I cannot thank you enough for the amount of time and help you've provided.  I will check all these things later tonight when I'm at home and will post back!

dsl, I tried your suggestions and everything seems to be working now!  I've tried it on my cell phone both on wi-fi and on 3G and it connected both times.  When I put the second router on the network a couple of weeks ago I never set the DHCP range on the Actiontec as you suggested.  So when I went in and fixed that I was able to connect.  I gotta give it a shot at work tomorrow now and verify.

Again, thanks a lot for all your help.  I wish all tech help was as efficient as this!

I've tried to follow the various online instructions but still cannot get internet access from the Cisco e4200 I have connected from the Internet port of the e4200 to a LAN port on the Actiontec MI424.  Here's what I have configured.  Help would be much appreciated!

Actiontec:

IP address 192.168.1.1

Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

DHCP server range 192.168.1.200 to 254

Wireless radio turned off

Cisco e4200:

Internet connection via DHCP

IP address: 192.168.1.200
Subnet: 255.255.255.128

DHCP IP Address range: 192.168.130-179
No static DNS server set

As you can see the e4200 has an IP address in the range of the Actiontec DHCP range, but is serving out addresses on a different subnet.

No.  ITs the same subnet. different range.  And not allowed.  A different subnet would be to have an address such as 192.168.2.1.  or 10.0.0.1
