The power adapter for the camera is 12V/1A, 100~240 VAC. Has anyone every run one of these off of a battery? My reason for asking is that I want to mount the camera in a work shed on the back of my property. There is no power in the shed and I had the thought that I would hookup a solar charged battery in the shed to power the camera. I know I could hook it to an inverter off the battery which, may be a better way to go as it would keep the camera from getting damaged if the battery were to supply too much or too little power.
Really, no one has any input on this question!
I found a web site which has specs on the outdoor camera.. It states that the camera takes 12v DC and 4.8 watts'' Now from college days, I (current) = P (power)divided by e(voltage).. So if you have 4.8/12 it comes to .4 amps or 400 ma.. So if you get a 12 volt battery rated at 500 ma that should do the trick.. actually, any 12v dc battery will do, it will only pull out of the source what it needs...
