Sign of 1.9 in NOVA?

My system info says 1.8, but yesterday I started seeing 1.9 styled panes in my MENU and GUIDE.  Exit and go back in and they are back to 1.8.  Is this a sign that full 1.9 is near?

Like many I purchased an eSATA drive back in June based on the missleading info on the FIOS site, and I would like to be able to use it.
