I have noticed that my DSL speed has steadily been dropping since March, 2013. The download speed declined as follows: 2.63, 2.18, 2.07, 2.14. While not a large drop there is a trend that concerns me. This also happened about a year ago and was resolved and the problem was with Verizon and not my computer or router. I hope this can be straightened out by Verizon before my download speed bottoms out to below 1Mb/s.

Is the drop in speed holding steady 24/7 regardless of what day, or the the time of day? How is your modem's Transceiver Statistics looking? If you need help getting these, please tell us the make and model of your modem.

Thanks for the message. My router is Actiontec, model GT784MNV. I do the speed test through Google at different times of the day to different servers. All of the tests are done via ethernet cable and not wireless. The speed contiues to drop. Please let me know how to check out the router and I'll send you the data.

I can not seem to find a copy of the manual for your modem but the info we need looks like this picture. I am sorry if the earlier links lead to something else - NOTE this is from a differnet modem . Are you paying for the 1.1 -- 3 Mb/s plan?

Yes, I am. Previously, a Verizon tech came and checked the system out. All was fine but he said there was something wrong back at the Verizon server. It took a day or two and then the speed jumped up to what was expected. This may be the problem again. I apprecaite the help.

Hi, we communicated before re: my DSL speed dropping over time. After your last reply I tried going to various servers in NJ, PA, and NY. The difference in speed was substantial from server to server which led me to believe it may not be my system but other servers. There was one server for the speed test that is in Red Bank, NJ and the speed was very favorable. Maybe something at my server but I am pleased with the speed of my DSL. Thanks for your help
