Crappy internet this morning nada pizza parlor downtown is even telling me their inter has been spotty, up& down for weeks. Tells me Verizon has a Line issue in our area.
No other router is connected. Speeds are all being grabbed from the IP address of the modem, not testing through WAN connected devices using verizon.com/speedtest. Or dslreports.com. I do not believe our modem is the problem, the Actiontec we had last week was giving us the same type of internet ( very unreliable, download speed fluctuating all over the place ). Verizon has tried to blame this current problem on our LINE LOOP , which is close to 4 miles, BUT we've had this same DSL for 5+ years and this particular issue is new, so not buying that excuse. Usually, when We have problems with DSL the UpLoad number is affected and NEVER has the download number gone down to .1MB.
Transceiver stats from the d-link 2750b Do not seem to be able to be seen, according to other messages on the board.

We've had 3 different modems over the last 2-3 years. This current problem is the same, whether I use the Actiontec ( which I just replaced) or the newest D-link.
I'm also very aware that 192.168.1.1. Tells me a RAW speed. That is why the tech has ALWAYS TRIED TO GET US 1.8mbdl/.4mb UL. That way we actually might get the 1.5mb download we pay for. We'll probably never get the allowable upload speed that pairs with the 1.5mb and .3 tested speed is it. We've learned to live with it. :-).
This is why I was a little miffed at the tech who just visited that got us back the 1.8/.4. But then had the. 1.8 throttled down to 1.2 and. Called it FIXED. No problems found. In the 3 days since the visit, it's dropped down to .1dl. Several times and dropped completely at least twice. Still not fixed

Yup, slow of the slowest. 🙂 thing is , it was working. All winter and through last fall with no calls to fix it, until about 2 months ago. Barely runs Netflix, gaming is only good when getting very good speeds. But it does both when working , although not At the same time , of course ). Certainly better than 56k. But..... That's when it is working.
I'm wondering if the cyber attacks on verizon has anything to do with services, cause browsing the boards, I'm not the only one with the same issue here.
