Why did FIOS send a bill to an alternate email address?

I prefer to receive a paper bill and pay by check.

My account details have always been paper bill, pay by check..
I'm interested if any other FIOS users are experiencing this
new billing procedure or if it's Phishing.

If you contact Verizon's billing department, they may be able to explain that.
