Re: Is Verizon's global infrastructure vulnerable to Heartbleed?

steve01 - two questions:

1)  What is an STB?

2)  Which modem-router passwords are we talking about?

-  The outer-facing username and password?  Right now, that's "MyDSL" and the password was pre-programmed - and I understand that Vz DSL doesn't really need it anyway - I could make up my own.

-  Or my inner-facing username and password when I go to 192.168.1.1 on my PC to access the modem-router's embedded web server to make changes?  I set that password some time ago and could change it at any time.

-  Or the WPA2-PSA passkey for the WiFi connection in my apartment?

Thanks.

STB = Set Top Box (what your TV is connected to). I am using FIOS so there may be some differences between us... The password I am talking about(as well as the SSID) is the WI-FI password("Passkey"), not the router admin username/password.

Smith6612,

Since Chris gave you his blessing, Why don't you post a copy of Verizon's response to your question.
