Just ran two tests.  One to Stanford in CA, one to Rochester in NY.  Both are rediculously slow.  I had to run the one to NY multiple times to even get a result.

The other thing is that to even access this site (forums.verizon.com) I have to reload it multiple times.  Many times it will just sit there loading for several minutes.

On hold on the phone with "support" right now.

Taking several tries to get image uploaded into message here.  Keep getting error sorry unable to complete action requested.

Finally had to turn my cell phone into a hotspot to even post this message.

Maybe a conspiracy to get me to use more cell phone data?  Just kidding.

Of course, this is most likely a geographical issue.   I would also suggest trying another test site besides Verizon's, actually 2, speedtest.net and pingtest.net

I have used those sites plenty of times and still get good speeds. Peak times do vary. Most recent test from speed test gave me 40.83 down and 39.46 up.

By geographical I meant the node they are on is oversubscribed.    The fact that someone else on a different node somewhere else is getting good speeds is not relevant.  “Evenings” is the key word in all this.   People come home and fire up Netflix etc and their node gets overloaded.   I’d run a wired speed test when things get slow at night and get on the phone to Verizon.  Keep calling, asking for Sups etc etc until they fix it.

Well my problem appears to be fixed.  Word was that it was a bad OLT? for the neighborhood.

It took way too long to fix in my opinion and they kept kicking the can down the road when it came to estimating a time to be repaired.  First it was Sunday night, then Monday at ~6pm then ~12am then Tuesday night then finally it appears to be fixed this evening.

Will post back if this isn't it.
