VPN router issue

I too have a VPN issue with my newly installed FIOS bundle.  Had FIOS internet and upgraded to 20M when we added the TV service.  Now, the only way my computer can access the VPN is when I put the "old" router between the wall and the new (Westell 9100) one.  Then the VOD doesn't work.  The issue - so I've been told - is that the IP address is the problem.  192.168.1.1 won't let the computer connect whereas 192.168.0.1 will.

Can I change the IP address on the new router so that I can have both?

If so, how?

If not, what are my options?

Verizon called last evening and worked the problem to resolution. Smiley Happy

All STBs and computers are set with 192.168.0.xxx

Thanks Verizon!

Yeah you can change the IP of the router, and the DHCP pool. you would just go into the IP settings on the router.

I've tried that.  I can't get the router to allow me to change the IP address.  Maybe I'm doing it incorrectly.  How would you suggest I do it?

Sorry I am not home, and can't give you step by step. But I am sure someone can here.

Click on Network Connections under [My Network] in 192.168.1.1.

Click on Network (Home/Office) under the list of connections.

Click on the [Settings] button.

You'll see that the IP is defined as 192.168.1.1 and there is a section below for Start IP   address and End IP address.

This is a little labor intensive but it will solve your issue,

1)Change the Ip to what ever your VPN require i think you said 192.168.0.1

2)Now once you change that you will have to make sure all the Ip's on the STB's (Cable Boxes) have to be changed over to the new IP Address this is why you VOD is not working, the way you that is the following

-->unplug all the STB's from the power , Yeah All of them

-->Now you will uplug the Verizon Router

-->Replug the Verizon router Wait until the Internet light (Globe icon) is Green

-->Now begin replugging you STB's back one at a time

-->you can also confirm the ip addres on the STB but pressing the Menu on the remote,  Setting, System info should read 192.168.0.10X  (100..102 ext)

-->that should solve both of your issues..

I will try all suggestions (unless one works - in which case I see no reason to keep trying Smiley Wink) and update the thread ASAP

Thanks!
