Have they eliminated a 1-800 number for residential billing issues altogether ? I have entered my phone number to be called back several times this AM and no one calls.

The so called “we will return your call” is just hype.
verizon is a communications company, that does not want to communicate with you.
a pity.
you just have to call until you get a live person on the phone. It’s best between 8 am till 5 pm EDT where you get Americans answering your calls and not foreigners.
also if you do get a live person many times no notes are left on your account (google it and be amazed) so what you thought was taken care of is not really taken care of.
you must be persistent and firm. Don’t let Verizon just ignore you. Ask for confirmation emails, faxes, something in writing etc.
