Battery swells on Verizon Elipsis Jetpack MHS700L

I had to order a replacement for this unit because the other 2 had batteries that had swelled and created a bubble on the case.

If these are lithium type batteries; this could be disastrous if left unattended.  I have contacted technical support about it and they didn't seem to give a hoot.

I tried the manufacturer's defect option in the protection plan, and that didn't work.  I filed a claim through Assurion, got the 2nd unit, and guess what happened again? You got it! The second unit swelled too, only this time I was watching for it.

Now here is the worse part, you can't ship the unit back for inspection to verify the claim of a manufacturers defect because of the batteries being swelled.

(Its against Postal regulations)  Nobody seemed to care about any pictures of the damaged unit either.

My advice is to stay away from these units, no matter if they were giving them away.  It could potentially EXPLODE if left plugged into the charger.
