Customer service rep

I had a question regarding a new line I purchased with my s9 + and since i like to understand how things work, I called in to customer service to ask someone...  I didnt quite understand why my tablet needed the new phone #and I couldn't have it for my 2nd line.. At 1st he was ok. He started out with a story regarding a cell tower meets a s9 and so on.... But then he seemed more upset with me because I just didn't  understand what he was trying to explain..And now the last make-believe story was reduced down to a kings tower meets a computer.. like what does that mean??? I know this is the stupidest question ever, or rather he made me feel like it was, but I should have not been treated like I was 5 years old at the end just because I did not get his "explanations"! He had a very harsh country accent towards the end of his condescending tone(best way I can describe his voice, almost unbearable) and I felt so degraded that I told him my problem was solved and hung up the phone.

Sorry to hear of your experience.  Maybe the rep just got off the phone with someone particularly unpleasant, but that's no reason to take it out on someone else.

Were you trying to ask about the Second Line promotion Verizon is offering to existing customers?  I can explain that to you.

If your question is more about why your S9 tablet needs a phone number and why that number wouldn't work for an actual phone: I am not a serious tech geek, but because the tablet is using cell phone towers, I suspect the network only recognizes things with a phone number attached to them.  So a phone number is assigned even to devices that aren't phones, so they can "talk" to the towers.  However, a tablet is used for internet (data) access only, so the service plan for it is only for data use.  You couldn't put this plan onto a phone because then the phone wouldn't be able to make or receive calls.

Hello, Jennamarie74. Thank you so much for letting us know if this. Your feedback is very important to us, and we like to submit it for you to ensure any negative behavior is addressed and resolved. Also, I would like to answer any questions you have regarding your billing. My apologies for any confusion on my end as I do want to ensure I understand your question fully. I see you asked why a tablet line needed a phone number. Is that correct? All lines with Verizon must have a phone number for billing. If this was not the question, please let us know as we would love to ensure your concerns are resolved and questions answered.
