Jetpack Mifi speed

When I moved to rural Virginia the woman we bought a house from someone who recommended Verizon Jetpack for internet. I went to the Verizon store in Warrenton and bought one. It is an absolutely terrible service. I have gone back to the store, chatted online and spoken to customer service, all of no real help. I have "unlimited" plan. When it is working it is very good, with speeds of 50MBPS or more. When it is in the slow down period it is often, if not usually less than 50KBPS. Yes 50 K bps or less. It is virtually useless. Verizon demonstrates that they have the technical ability to provide a quality service (for a few days of the high period), but they choose to not offer that. Instead they lack any integrity and provide a worthless service. They seem to have no competition, so they can easily get away with this. The satellite companies have 1 or 2 star ratings which seems to indicate they are not competitors. I pray for Xfinity to come to my community. Anybody have any solutions or alternatives?

The solution is to move somewhere with infrastructure. Whoever recommends a jetpack for home internet either never used one before or barely uses the internet. Once they reach 15GB, you lose 4G speed.

I've been in a similar situation before and thankfully it was just an apartment I had no attachment to. Always check what ISPs are in an area you plan to live at.
