Time zone changed on my iPhones when using LTE 4G Network Extender

I was notified by Verizon that the use of my older network extender was not going to be covered anymore and that I was going to have to upgrade to a newer version. I was to place an order for the newer model and to replace my older one. After doing so, the newer one has changed my time zone from the mountain time zone, Denver, to the central time zone, Chicago. This device is used in our vacation home in the Denver area, mountain time zone, and our home is located in the central time zone. Our iPhones are, and always have been set to automatically change zones and have always worked properly until I changed to this newer network extender. I have read that all that needs to be changed is to go into the settings of the extender and and to change the time zone to mountain time. Unfortunately this does not work, and seems to not work for anyone having the same issue. Am I just forced to change back to my older unit which has always worked? This to me seems like a ridiculous way to correct this issue! Please give us the simple solution and not by changing our iPhones to manually set the time zones each time!

Hello, Knmittel. Thanks so much for this info as we understand the importance of the extender providing the correct time. Please see the link below and reference page 23 for the instructions on setting the time zone for your extender.

I have done the changes as stated on page 23 and changed them to Denver which is Mountain Time Zone and it still pops up on our iPhones as Central time zone in Chicago. Now what do you recommend to correct this issue as we have to change our phone to manual in order to have it corrected. We never had to do this with our older network extender equipment. This seems to be a ridiculous problem with new equipment! Can you please respond to my email address to simplify my responses? [email address removed per the Verizon Terms of Service]? Thanks

Thank you for letting us know that you have attempted the steps shared above. We understand how important it is for your devices to function as expected without having to make any changes to have them work as they normally do. You shared that this issue is impacting your iPhones connected to the new Network Extender. Have any different devices attempted to connect to the new extender? If so, do those devices also show the incorrect timezone even though you have changed it on the extender? Are both iPhones on the most recent software update?

Hello, I am having the same issue on multiple extenders. I have them set on the web admin page to eastern however, they display Chicago on any device connected to them. Samsung and iPhone device both. I have called in and they fix it however, a few weeks later it changes right back to Chicago. This is an issue for us a business as we have many visitors from different time zones including international visitors. This issue has caused visitors to miss flights, meetings, and multiple other times as their device displays the wrong time zone as they are visitors and unaware of the time issue.

Meg, I have been on the phone/chat since this post. 6 hours now.. escalated to tier 3 support with no luck still. Still cant believe this is not an option to change within the web admin page.

@jasonsmith616  I see you posted your solution in the thread:

I was finally able to get this issue resolved. You must get in touch with Verizon engineers. That is the only way to change the time zone as they do not allow the end user to change. It must be done on the back end by the engineers.

Can you enlighten us on how you got in touch with Verizon engineers and where did they have to change it???

...Just another VZW customer...trying to offer some assistance...

I am also having this problem. I have a 4G network extender that Verizon sent me due to a decrease in coverage at my home. I set it up right after the new year and it seemed to work fine until yesterday. It changed the time zone on my iPhone during the night and I over slept by an hour. I was late getting my kids to school and getting to work. I almost lost my job because of it. Last night I went in and changed the time zones and it seemed to fix it. Tonight my wife showed me just before bed that the time on her iPhone was off by an hour. Mine was still correct. After that we had to manually set our phones to eastern time.  How do I get this fixed?

Thanks for letting us know about the issue- it sounds incredibly frustrating especially with how it impacted your day. Network extenders can sometimes cause this type of problem if the GPS signal they use for time zone settings gets disrupted. Let's work on getting this resolved for you.

I recommend rebooting the extender by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and plugging it back in. This can help refresh its connection. Also, make sure the device is positioned in an area with a strong GPS signal (near a window if possible) Let me know if this helps.

Hello! We're checking in with you. After doing that reboot to your system, what changes have you noticed in your Network Extender's performance?
