How can I restrict access (users) to the 4G Network Extender 2?
With the 3G device it was possible to create a "user prioritized" access list within My Verizon devices.

ROBHOB28HAR, we understand the importance of making sure you are able to control who is able to connect to your 4G network extender. Allow us the opportunity to further go over the details. The 4G Network extender 2 does not provide an option to have a “user prioritized” list as the 3G network extender did. You will have the option to view the connected devices which will show the current connected users as well as the peak Network extender capacity utilization over the last hour and 24 hour period. Thank you for reply and information.
Help Desk support suggested otherwise and provided documents for the now
unavailable 3G device.
The reason I want to restrict or control access to my network extender is
local cell tower coverage in my proximity is patchy at best and I dont want
to be the pseudo Verizon network provider for the community. My internet
access is limited and I want to maintain service for family and friends.

ROBHOB28HAR, we do understand the importance of controlling the network allotment on the Network Extender. This particular model does not support white listing numbers for connectivity. I understand that this is not the news you want to. As stated the 3G Model does support White Listing number to have priority.

May I suggest the User Manual, online and included with the device, should
be revised to remove the reference to CSG, Page 11
See attached.
The page references CSG Open / Hybrid / Closed. The diagram shows Closed in
the display whereas the device only has Open.

I'm really surprised why Samsung/Verizon is taking this security issue so lightly. Technically it's no different from allowing open access to one's network router. Sure, I believe it's much more difficult to hack into another device connected to the extender, but it's still a form of Theft of Service.

I'm guessing the Verizon monkeyed with the firmware (it's a compulsion) and eliminated the closed option because they want the extenders to funcion as auxiliary mini-towers. They should be paying you to host their Network traffic. LOL
Not to revive an old thread, but this seems crazy that just anyone can use someone elses Network Extender. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if one of my neighbors is unkowinly connected to our Extender, and they dial 911, won't they come to my address instead of theres due to the GPS location? If so, Verizon and Samsung need to correc this ASAP!
My neighbors have no idea they're connected to our device, they call 911 assuming that their celluar triangulization position is being sent to the e911 system... and ooppss... they never show up. Liability suit if I've ever seen one!
BuyingTime,safety is key no matter which device you are using. At this time, we are working with manufacturing for providing a limit block so that users may specifically register the phones that may connect with their extender. While this is not yet available for the 4G version, please know that the extender does limit the connection to about 50ft, in many cases this does mean that neighbors will not have the option of that connection.

Please make this a priority! This is absurd that you cannot prioritize phones on the new extender. I live in a mid-rise condominium and my neighbors live in the close proximity of my Extender and I. How do we escalate and find out when the update to allow this is being targeted for?

Just adding my voice to the chorus. I did this with ease with the 3G extender. Why can't I do it with the 4GLTE?
We certainly want to make sure that you are getting full use of your network extender, brimster. Help is here. To clarify, what is the specific make/model of your network extender? Are you having any issues with extender that we should know about other than the ability to create a whitelist?

The extender model is the Samsung 4G LTE Network Extender 2 (SKU# SLS-BU10B). The extender is functioning well, but still lacks the capability to set up a whitelist. When is this feature going to be enabled?

Dont hold your breath. It's kind of like social security, we pay for others to use our bandwidth. The hard worker has to pay, while others take advantage.
I appreciate the update with you getting back to us as it relates to your Verizon 4G Network Extender 2 and the whitelist, AndrewBreault. Let me check into your concern if the feature for the whitelist is going to be enabled. Upon review, there's no information if the whitelist feature is going to be available. While Managed mode is being evaluated, Verizon makes no warranty as to its timing or availability. However, if anything changes, please keep checking our support website as we want to work on improving desired features.

Don't hold your breath. If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with garbage It's never going to happen, no matter how much meaningless, "let me check for you" replies, links on how to setup the device, or thanking for being a loyal Verizon customer, I do apologize etc... If you're a business customer, you're good to go. Just purchase an enterprise network Extender, very expensive though.
