I used my wireless scanner/printer with a MIFI 7730L-1179.
I scanned a few documents- maybe a total of 75 pages- and uploaded them to OneDrive. According to Verizon, that used 15 GB of date!! I used 100% of my "high speed" data in a single day by just using this thing in a routine manner.
Is there a solution? Is there a way to scan and upload documents without using massive amounts of data?

Having enough data to last the month is very important. When scanning and uploading the amount of data used will vary based on many factors including number of colors and what the files are being uploaded to. While there is not a way to avoid that data consumption, using single color will assist in reduction of some data usage. I hope this helps to explain.

Yup, that could happen. It all depends on how large your scanned documents were when you sent them to the cloud.

Yes. Create smaller file sized scanned documents before you upload them. You can do that by adjusting the resolution of your scanned images or compressing them with something like ZIP. Or save your scanned jobs to a USB drive and then upload them when you can find an alternative internet source like public WiFI at a hotspot.
The details on how to setup and manage the scanning properties of your scanner go beyond the scope of this forum. Just know that any data you submit over your VZW connection will be billed against you.
