My house uses a network extender due to poor signal. But my phone doesn't stay connected to it. Keeps coming off. Any ideas why?

Df32, through extensive troubleshooting that you completed with John, I'm glad that we were able to find the root cause of the issue you were experiencing. Based on the thorough review of your device, account, and settings John was able to determine that the issue you were experiencing remaining connected to your Network Extender was isolated to your phone, and not a Network Extender issue.

We came to this conclusion after confirming the other phone on your account was connecting to the Extender without problems, and also reviewing recent calls that were placed under the device. For added peace of mind, John also verified that the Network Extender was properly activated, that the right MAC ID was on file, and that the proper settings were enabled on your phone. Because the issue was isolated to your phone, our recommendation was a new cell phone. Should you have any questions in the future, we'll be a few clicks away. 🙂

Which make/model extender do you have?  Is this a new issue or has it always done this? What make/model phone do you have?  Do you have WiFi and is WiFi calling enabled on your phone?

It is a brand new out of the box Verizon LTE Network Extender. My phone is an old (2021) Moto G Power. I have WiFi and am enabled for WiFi calling, yes.

You could try increasing the transmit power in the extender's settings. Also, try disabling WiFi calling on your phone to see if that helps.

Could you please share the steps to get to the page you showed. I can't find that.

Your network extender is connected to your WiFi and should have an IP address assigned.  Press the button below the display on the extender to see your Network Extender’s IP address.  Use a browser and enter that IP address which should open the admin website of the extender.  The user manual for the extender should have the default IP address and admin password.

For the Samsung and Askey LTE Network Extender  the default administrator password is LTEFemto + last 4 digits of the MAC ID (e.g., LTEFemto00A3). The MAC ID can be found on the label on the bottom of the Network Extender. Login is 'admin' and the password is case sensitive.

So this extender is not extendning my wifi but the verizon signal in my home. Not sure how to find the IP address for that. Also there was no manual or paperwork indicating IP address or admin password.

The LTE Network Extender provides a mini cell tower in your location and connects to the Verizon network via a LAN connection to your router and thru the Internet. Here is a link to the User Manual:

Thanks for reaching out here Df32! We hate to hear your phone is not indicating connected. Have you had a chance to review your internet connection?  For the Network extender to perform, high speed internet, not satellite or DSL, with speeds of at least 10 mbps down and 5 mbps up are required. Turn off wi-fi calling to use the Network Extender connection.

Thanks for giving that a try, so we'll now want to take a look at things in a bit more detail. I'm going to send you a Private Message so we can work together on the Network Extender issue.
