Sorry if this has been answered already.

Anyone know when 1.9 is supposed to be rolled out to the Long Island, NY  (franklin square) area?

Thanks

Apparently, the rollout is moving up the east coast just like a Nor'easter!  Hoping the Boston area gets it sooner rather then later.

1 thing we know for sure is the non-offical statement for DAC's 1,9,5, and 3 is not correct as far as the order being released, So what is the order going to be now? DAC 9 has already been skipped, How will the order follow now?

They do it by DAC.

Two Dacs are done (13 and 7)

Four to go.

I believe DAC 9 was scheduled as per peoples postings that said the coming soon was on their screen, and it went away. Perhaps the East coast strike had something to do with it. I have no idea who is getting what when. But skipping to the West coast to keep things moving only seemed fair. Then at some point coming back East to us. I do know based on this list that 9 was before 3. Now if Verizon had not done what they had, it would have delayed the release for everyone, and the perhaps I would see it next year. I believe it was a good business decision to do what was done. We will all see 1.9 at some point so I can wait.

So the best we can tell from the messages here is that DAC 1 was the last to get 1.9?

We don't even know who has actually gotten the latest notification of the install.

I would hope for a steady roll out, but it doesn't seem to be that way.

I've also had an esata drive standing by waiting.

Great idea! After everyone in the East is put through the ringer with the strike, delay the East Cost areas even more and move west instead.

The west, California and Texas, were already the next planned before the strike.  Originally planned the week of the strike.

Here we go again. I thought Coasters was a Jamie_Lee term. I sure am glad it is not just us Easters that get called Coasters. The Westers get called Coasters too.Smiley Very Happy

Thanks for making me feel not so bad, but I don't think 3 is last, as mentioned by a user here.

I find it highly unlikely that those of us in NY wil get the 1.9 update. I bet what they are planning is to release it everywhere else but NY then show off how non new yorkers will get a firmware that is more stable and works properly with wide screen tv's and doesn't freeze every few days and don't take 5 seconds to respond to a single button press.

I can imagine it now.

Meeting:

Hey I went to NY and tried to take the bus and the bus driver skipped the stop and I had to wait like an hour for the next bus.

Lets see how much they like it when they don't get the 1.9 update

*evil laughs*

=-=--==-

This is the only explanation as verizon is clearly able to update everyoen now if they wanted to. As other cable companies have done entiire country updates at the same time when the DRM for their DVR content gets cracked. and thats with older equipment.  Verizon should be able to use their newer servers to easily update everyone.

It also has nothing to do with call centers as if the firmware was designed to fix issues with the 1.8 firmware while also adding features, you wont have people calling in  so often wondering why their STB likes to crash and respond slowly

Why not have a systemwide release of 1.9 img before this happen? Let us all enjoy the release before dooms day.

Perhaps it is why Virginis and DAC3 with MD, VA and Washington DC is last. Might be a good thing I get it last or don't get it. TiVO shares content between boxes, did they get sued? Verizon has had MRDVR for a while, what about the SAT providers, did the get sued? Multi hub is the only thing I see as being new in the game. I don't see that it is justified. Only thing I see is Cablevision being in bed with this outfit, and a way to go after the competion. Cablevision wants a monopoly.

Wonder if Joe relays the stupendous level of frustration fios customers are feeling regarding 1.9..to higher UPS . Even with 1.9 we will not have start over ability..and will not have the ability to record 4 shows at once like TiVo..fios is not cutting edge..they don't even offer interactive channels like directv.they even have a slim HD channel lineup compared to satellite tv.adding one obscure network at a time every 5 months..obviously Verizon..like Congress is this huge over inflated bureaucracy .decisions take insane amount of time which leads them to fall behind competitors.
