Pixelation/skips in DVR recordings

Ever since the 1.9 upgrade about 2 weeks ago, every single recording on the DVR I've made has had one moment where it skips, and becomes slightly pixelated.  This doesn't happen watching live TV, and it almost never happened in recordings pre-1.9.  My DVR is the QIP 7216 1.

Is anyone else seeing this?  Does anyone have any ideas for solving it?

Add me to list of problems with 1.9.  Only on my 7232. It it has gotten to the point where I have stopped recording because even live TV is pixelated when I am recording something else. We have 3 other DVRs with no problems since 1.9.  I don't even try calling because I have done all (unplug, etc), am just waiting for new upgrade.  I am a software developer so it is frustrating when you know it has to be software since there was absolutely no problems before 1.9.  Just fix the program or give me back the previous version!!!!

what are the other DVRs?

Not 100% sure. Was the standard one about a year ago. I think the 7200.

we hope to be able to provide an update which will  address this issue but I cannot confirm the timing of it yet as the software is still being finalized.

I am having the same problems everyone else describes:  Video playback pixelation/freezing.  I also notice that the box is very slow to respond to commands from the remote control.

My box is a 7232.

Same here have both a 7232/p2 and 7216 dvrs - my 7232 pixelates on live and recorded shows, which has me looking to go back to Directv.  My 7216  DVR has the skip ahead freezing feature where you have to restart the show after skipping ahead.  All of this started with the 1.9 downgrade.

I've been told they are working on the skip issue - but to fix pixelation I was told to reseat all connections ...

Eh, careful what you wish for Soupy. I just came back to FiOS after four months of Directv's buggy DVRs. Paid an early termination fee willingly because they were so frustrating. Verizon's - at least the 7232s I have - are like nirvana comparatively.

Ouch ... guess the grass looks greener applies.

Well I decided to watch a recording in the 7216 room off of my 7232 dvr.  I have done the opposite before, but this was a first. in this direction.  I had to refresh the dvr list  (which was really quick) to see the recordings.  The response to the remote was oddly slower than usual.  When I finally launched the recording - I honestly can say it was a horrible experience.  From full screen pixelation, stuttering, skipped frames with the accompying audio affected as well.  The show was supernatural and I do believe my system was possessed.

Interesting thing is both dvr's are available onlline to maintain recordings - usually one is not accessible so from that end the system is peachy.

Guess I will go thru my celing and reseat everything and see what results.  Any other thoughts before I do this.  Thank goodness I have my ethernet port provisioned so this doesn't affect my internet which has been flawless since I moved it off the MOCA(?) side.

Essentially short of replacing the boxes. they only thing you can do is eliminate bad wiring as the problem.  The reseat the connections (often the weak point in the wiring) is the first easy thing to do.  The comment you made in one of the messages about trouble watching from one DVR to another points to this perhaps being REALLY a wiring problem in your house.
