Calling Back to USA from Abroad-Technical Help Needed

Newbie

Good Afternoon,

My daughter just started her study abroad in Amman Jordan.  She brought her iPhone 13 Pro Max.  Physical SIM card was on the Verizon Network when she was home.  An ESIM was purchased in Amman and is accessing the Zain network.  We purchased and activated a $100 Monthly International Plan on her phone and I am using Global Choice-Jordan on my iPhone here in the States.

Right now I can see her location in Amman as she has shared her location with me.  We can text back and forth.  I can voice call her Verizon number and her Zain number.  She can voice call me with her Zain plan, but cannot call me with her Verizon plan.  Roaming is on, Cellular Switching is activated.

Does she need to reprogram my Verizon number in her Contacts to add + 1 to use her Verizon International Plan rather than her local Zain plan?

I am much appreciative of any thoughts and experiences you can share as this is the first international phone usage we have had.

NHVerizonUser, we definitely want to make sure that your daughter is able to make calls to the United States from Jordan, and we'd be happy to help right away. To answer your question, when calling the States while abroad, it will be necessary to dial +1 as a prefix, followed by the ten digit US number. To better assist, we'll be sending a Private Note.
