I bought an e-sim when traveling in Europe and installed it. I got bars on the upper right but no data or phone connection. Spent $47 on the e-sim and have an unlocked iPhone 13. About to go on another European trip and will not pay another $10/day for lousy data services. Don’t know how to correct this and calls to Verizon go nowhere.

Hi there, as a fellow consumer I certainly understand not wanting to pay twice for service. To clarify, are you using eSIM for you verizon service? Did you suspend your service before leaving the country last time?

Hi, thank you for your response. I was using the e-sim for another carrier and did not suspend service prior to leaving. Should I have?

Got it, Hlkdc. To be sure, you are using your physical SIM card for Verizon service, did I get that right? To answer your question, we would definitely recommend suspending your Verizon service if you will not be using one of our international plans, to avoid accidentally incurring international charges. What settings, if any, did you adjust after setting up the European eSIM?

I don’t want to suspend service; if the e-sim won’t work I’ll have to pay the $10/day so I can work.
when I installed the e-sim I turned off the Verizon p-sim, turned on e-sim data roaming, tried toggling every setting I could to get it to work. I saw bars, saw a connection to a local telco, but no actual data connection. Frustrating, expensive, a waste of time and money. Have had these problems with Verizon phones since switching to Verizon.

Thank you for the information and I apologize for the difficulties. Are you receiving any error messages apart from the service not working?

No error messages. I see connection bars in the upper right but nothing works.
about to go overseas again and no doubt will have no ability to use local e-sim and will be forced to pay Verizon $10/day for stingy data services and no technical support.
