Just spent an hour and 12 minutes on the phone with Verizon technical specialist as my phone has no service in Italy. After attempts at troubleshooting was advised that there is an issue with all international roaming on Verizon at this time. Can anyone confirm whether this is accurate.

Verizon was aware of an international third-party communications provider having issues with voice and data connections with U.S. based customers traveling overseas at the end of June. The issues have been fixed and impacted customers have received notifications from Verizon.
If you have an issue like this while traveling, we recommend using Wi-Fi when available. If you had previously activated Wi-Fi Calling back in the United States, that feature can be used as well in the meantime: https://www.verizon.com/support/wifi-calling-faqs/.
We appreciate your patience and understanding, and thank you for using Community Forums to lift your feedback and experience.

I and 3 others have the exact same problem as Newbie. No Verizon service in Paris, even though we are paying for the international plan. I had a medical emergency today, and none of us had a usable phone because of this. Fortunately our tour guide had a usable network and summoned the EMTs. France does an excellent job with emergency medical services for tourists. I only wish I could say the same about Verizon. To add insult to injury, I have not found a way to communicate with international tech support, and Verizon has not contacted me in any effective way about this outage. But I'll bet they still expect me to pay the monthly bill. Frankly, I feel defrauded.

Having the same issues on travel plan,
first started with SOS , worked with Verizon Tech through wifi texting feature, to no avail
then my wife’s phone went to SOS later that day, while we were in Canada at Airport
now when we arrived in Amsterdam, my wife’s phone finally connected, but my phone still has no bars (SOS finally stopped being shown)

I am trying to add an esim from another carrier but verizon won't even respond or try to help restore service. Very dissatisfied and disappointed in verizon this is ruining my vacation

I'm so frustrated and spent an hour online with VZ to be told that they. are "aware" of an issue that no one else here seems to have. I am in Mexico and have been here for 3 weeks. My phone works fine. Today suddenly there is no service, none of the networks will work. 0 bars, no incoming our outgoing calls. Text is kind of working. No data working either.
No one at VZ wants to help, I don't believe there is a national outage as I have checked with others here on VZ and ATT, and searched the internet.
Any ideas? I've gone through the 50-step troubleshooting that took 1/2 hour with Verizon, but when she tried to send me to tech, they denied me and said it was a known issue.
Thanks
Barari

I have the same
problem
in Cancun and Verizon chat or Verizon online is no help. I have had 2 days without service and my plan includes Mexico and Canada. I tried the trouble shoot in the app and it’s garbage. Telling you to do the same thing over and over and then hits a dead end and you have to start over. For the so-called “best network” - this is unacceptable that we have to deal with this.

Lost connection with my daughter in Portugal since yesterday, no calls, no texts and all types of communication. This is so dangerous to get disconnected with your family while they are abroad. So insane.

We are traveling in Europe, and everyone's phone on my plan has stopped working. I can't reach technical support because I'm unable to log in without receiving the text message confirmation code, which I of course can't receive because I have no service. The chatbot won't let me proceed to ask for help without this code. What do i do? All 3 family phones have been down for more than 14 hours and I can't get help.

We're sorry about the issues you're having with your service. There's a current international outage impacting all customers. We're currently working to resolve this, however, there is no current ETR. We're very sorry for the inconvenience.

I am in morocco and yesterday we lost our service. Was with Verizon agent over 1.30 finally was told there is an issue with international service and should be fixed in 2-21/2 hours and was advised to stay connected with the agent. But wasn’t even able to communicate with her. I was using Verizon app through wifi on a separate phone. Almost 12 hours later and still no service! I am still able to receive calls and text messages with wifi calling on the same phone number and device with this issue!
