Travel from US to Thailand

Before I left the US I spoke with a Verizon representative that added the international plan. I was told that I could have both the international plan and esim. The representative had me on on hold and then ny call dropped. After it dropped I had NO SERVICE. This was prior to getting on the plane in New York. When I got to Thailand I had NO SERVICE AT ALL!  I could only chat. The representative was giving me 4 step commands which made it very difficult. I had to keep going back and forth to follow directions. I was on the phone chatting for about 40 minutes  and still NO SERVICE. Verizon is the 3rd largest provider in the world and can't connect my phone to their international plan. This isn't the first time that this has happened. This is effecting my business. Why even have the international plan if it isn't working? Very frustrated with Verizon! Maybe I need the second largest provider in the world. I need my phone to work. That is what I am paying for.
