I’m in Portugal and unable to make calls anywhere to US as well as Verizon. I have travel pass and I was able to make calls and now suddenly I can’t. I have full bars and 5G.

Not being able to make calls back to the US is strange.  If you'd only exhausted your high speed data allotment, it would simply be internet access you can't get anymore.  If restarting your phone and making sure roaming wasn't shut off doesn't work, you'll have to find a landline and call International Services Support at the toll free number for Portugal: 00 800-50050099.  If your calls start working again, you can call International Services Support from your phone at 1-908-559-4899.

[update] Do you have 2 SIMs/eSIMs on your phone?  Travel Pass works per line, so if you had a Travel Pass session going with line 1, not sure if line 2 will work at all, unless you enable a second Travel Pass session for the second number.

Hi—I have one line for my phone for travel pass (specifically allotted for the phone), but confirmed with some random verizon number which transferred me to customer service, that it was an issue with my cell phone automatically connecting to the wrong network.

Thanks for sharing that tidbit.  I've sometimes wondered if when your phone is roaming, that it could connect to a network which Verizon has no interconnection agreement with.  In such a situation, your service would not work while connected to that network.
