Call a U.S. cell phone in Italy

I am going to Italy in a few days with my sister and my husband is not going.  I have set up my iPhone with travel pass and my husband's phone has international calling enabled.  Here is my question:  How does my husband dial my iPhone from the U.S. while I am in Italy?  Does he need to dial the Italy access code?

He dials the number just like he would if you were in the USA.
